A Word About Dr. Nix
Dr. Sheldon Nix earned a B.A. from Princeton University, a Masters of Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City, and earned the Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University.   He also has many years of training and experience in life coaching and small business coaching/management from Coach University, the Graduate School of Coaching (now CoachVille) and the E-Myth Mastery small business coaching program.

Personal Development and Psychology Experience:
Dr. Nix for 15 years was a (tenured) Assistant and then Associate Professor of Counseling at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA, and during that time chaired the Department of Counseling and served as a college therapist.  He learned how to quickly help people understand their hard-to-change patterns of thinking and behavior and to get them unstuck.

Before that he was the Director of the Family Center at Cooper Hospital and, even earlier, National Director of Black Campus Ministries with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, helping to develop programs to black college students around the country.

Entrepreneurship and Business Coaching Experience:
Dr. Nix has two decades of building small businesses, from a telecommunications network marketing business many years ago (291-member downline, 2,000 customers) to a successful internet membership site selling information products long before membership sites were popular.  Most recently, he developed a $2 million/year training and consulting business in 6 years focused on helping nonprofit organizations (Nonprofit Development Institute).

As a coach and consultant, Dr. Nix has consulted with various kinds and sizes of organizations around the country on strategic planning, program/service design, business development, and staff development/human asset maximization

Dr. Nix has extensive experience in assisting businesses, churches and other organizations to improve their long-term capabilities to meet the needs of the communities/markets they serve.  This has led to a particular focus on: 1) identifying the needs of their target communities; 2) identifying the best strategies for meeting those needs (in both financial and service quality terms); 3) maximizing their human assets in implementing those strategies; and 4) developing systems that allow the leaders to run an efficient and consistently effective operation.

In this capacity, Dr. Nix has designed numerous training programs, coached individuals, and assisted many people in identifying their strengths and matching those strengths to vocational aspirations.  And Dr. Nix has intensively studied and practiced the art of copywriting – to great effect!

Work with Men:
Dr. Nix is the Founder and President of Project Manhood (www.projectmanhood.org), a program that coaches men in developing an extraordinary life and also helps them reach boys.  Dr. Nix has led many intensive men’s groups and men’s retreats and trained dozens of churches in developing men’s and boy’s ministries.
